They wouldn't be the first ones )) And btw multiscatter is not useless, yeah Forest pack is easier to use for some, and in some cases it is easier and quicker to get good results from + it got some built in presets and such (which aren't too good but are not too bad either) but in terms of actual functionality Ms and Fp are almost identical except for presets and the very importatnt fact that cracked versions of FP due to it's protection system still is +- uncrackable and rather unusable in a long run for serious work, hell that's why I finally legally bought FP a year or so ago )) And just look at those multiscatter preset\model scenes which the same company has made - I mean iGrass and iAlpine they are gorgeous and are still one of the best out there - no worse than lets say vizpark's real grass for FP + those unlike forestpack's presets, do not use clumps of grass for scattering and thus look way better on slopes without any additional fiddling and that type of scattering generally looks better for close renderings due to better edges which you get that way + no one says you can't use clumps in MS too for somewhat better performance of some far away grass and of course all those FP presets are just models with some txt\xml\whatever driven presets so no one says you cannot use those models with Multiscatter too ) Possibility to assign ID to various terrain details With SplineLand you can lay roads over the terrain as well as create and level areas, generate bedding courses and ground cuts at selected angles and heights Possibility to use any types of splines, including open splines Powerful algorithm which allows to control level of details only in areas you need, just by adding or subtracting splines in that particular area, without overloading the whole scene Splines can be topographic contours in one plane each, or can be just any shape.Ĭreation of precise and topologically correct terrains from splines representing topographic contours Now you can do it quickly, in just a few clicks your topographical data in form of splines can become a terrain. Without SplineLand it is almost impossible to achieve such accurate results in 3ds Max. SplineLand is a plugin for Autodesk 3ds Max that helps to generate topographically accurate terrains from a set of splines and lay roads.
